Marly - Louis XVI as a source of inspiration Louis XVI was therefore a source of inspiration for the Marley brand. And what's the wonder? Because roses, flowers, fruits and exotic extracts of all kinds were everywhere in Louis XIV's yard. In addition, the interior design of Marley's Chateau, where the king loved to relax, made extensive use of pastel, floral, sea green and light pink floral elements. The women of the yard preferred fragrances of scented luxury trees wrapped in jewelery made up of diamond smiles. These imitations were invented at the time by Georg Friedrich Strass in 1738. While the weave of their dresses was a very sophisticated blend of all colors and included fragrances of all perfumes together they created a great visual effect. These women used to wear miniature styled scenes in their hair (it was a wig of course). These scenes were made of feathers, fruits, flowers and small, painted birds. Since bathing was something they did not often do, the scent of perfume changed the smell of the body. Indeed, the perfume reached new heights during Louis XII's reign, with every aroma created to reach new heights in terms of inventiveness. Creating perfumes was almost unrestrained; And quite a few yard people even had their own "perfume basements" in their homes, which allowed them to put together special blends. By then, it was clear that the foundation of today's familiar perfume was established. When perfumes initially included two three components - the "base notes", which are enriched with expensive and complex bouquets known as "Mill Flores", a thousand flowers, which over time became "heart notes". "Top labels" were already fashionable in Louis XIV's court thanks to Princess de la Tramuil of Nerola, who gave her name to Neroli. While fruit extracts were preferred, above all "orange blossom water" for example was the liking of King Louis XVI and Pompadour's Marquis.
