There are plenty of different oils that climb up the perfume pyramid scent, but, the most common in the perfume world is bergamot - definitely a fragrance that needs to be recognized. The bergamot grows throughout the Mediterranean basin, is a fruit about the size of an orange but more like a lemon. Deliberate hybridization of orange and lemon created our bergamot. Bergamot plays a significant role in the title of one of the most unique essential oils in the citrus world. Bergamot gets more points of uniqueness because of the area in which it grows. A particularly interesting fact is that bergamot is actually a sour fruit, as befits a fruit that is close to citrus fruits, but the essential oil extracted from it is actually sweet and this gives it the ability to enhance and improve the environment it reaches in the perfume pyramid stage.
