A LAB ON FIRE Paris
A LAB ON FIRE Paris is a young fragrance house shrouded in mystery, improbable and almost ultimate in its enigma. This is a limited-production, niche fragrance house that is, in fact, the brilliant collaboration of some of the finest talents in the perfumery industry. Their goal is to create original fragrances that showcase their high levels of inventiveness, freshness and quality. Each fragrance is crafted by a celebrated nose and embodies a contemporary, refined and rich trend. The packaging design likewise emphasizes simplicity and industrial chic. Here, glamour is about discovering the unique and luxurious, and doing so in unexpected places. The mysterious approach shows how mystery makes it possible to keep some secrets hidden. In short, mystery and glamour wrapped together are the brand's motto. How did it all begin? A LAB ON FIRE Paris began with a delicate yet fragrant blend, shaped by a series of wild experiments in tiny studio spaces and a deep commitment to pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box. The brand's story begins in DUMBO, a rather unpromising neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, back in 2000. A tiny sculpture studio was also home to an innovative company called S Perfume, or, if you prefer, "the world's smallest fragrance house." Its fragrance-making involved a unique creative process that allowed its members to craft complex and unusual scents. Yet while its creations were praised by the fragrance world, and consistently by creators such as Chandler Burr, Luca Turin and Michael Edwards, sales figures remained insignificant. These fragrances were apparently ahead of their time. The team behind the brand decided to spend a decade experimenting, challenging one another and, all in all, enjoying the process. After learning so much and building up their knowledge, the team set a new goal: to create a single perfume that would appeal to a wider audience. What began as another creative experiment became a popular fragrance. A LAB ON FIRE Paris - The transformation In 2011, the team created the fragrance L'Anonyme ou, working with celebrated perfumer Olivier Polge. The perfume launched at Colette in Paris in April 2011, became an overnight success and sold out in a flash. At this point, the team was at a crossroads. Their experiment had proved profitable, even though they had thought of it as a one-off project. As often happens, the appeal of a successful new business proved too strong, too exciting. Buyers were calling nonstop, and the team had also quickly launched its second fragrance, What We Do In Paris Is Secret by Dominique Ropion. As popular as L'Anonyme ou, it suddenly turned the brand into a sought-after fragrance house. The brand's fragrances The newest fragrance from A LAB ON FIRE Paris is called A Blvd. Called Sunset. It launched last year, with Maurice Roucel behind it. He had previously worked with Chanel and was involved in creating several hundred perfumes. Its top notes are citrus fruits and almonds; the heart notes are violet flowers, jasmine flowers and Or. The base notes are Tonka bean, sandalwood and Madagascar Vanil. It leans Pirchoni, has a moderate presence and lasts on the skin for quite a reasonable amount of time. This perfume is suited to pleasant autumn days and is certainly meant to remind us of the Santa Ana winds that blow through California along wide Sunset Boulevard, descending to the Pacific coast at dusk and carrying us toward sunset among the waves. Here, the fragrance paints a picture.
