Acqua Di Parma
Acqua di Parma is one of the oldest brands on the market. Ever wondered just how old it is? The brand began as a small fragrance workshop in Parma. Its first fragrance was created in 1916 and named Colonia. In its early days, it was used to scent gentlemen's handkerchiefs, which men would elegantly tuck into their suit pockets. In those days, Colonia became a true symbol of Italian chic, attracting American and European celebrities alike. In the years before World War II, during the 1930s, and again after the war in the 1950s, some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Cary Grant, David Niven, Ava Gardner and Ava Turner, were among Colonia's enthusiastic admirers. Audrey Hepburn joined them later. It is no wonder that a small workshop, Acqua di Parma, grew into a prominent fragrance house with wide distribution. But several years have passed since then, and they have not always been kind to this fragrance house, which nevertheless survived and now seems to be making a comeback. The brand owes its comeback in the early 1990s to three influential Italians in fashion who sought to restore it to its former glory: Diego Della Valle of Tod's, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo of Ferrari, and Paolo Borgomanero of La Perla. They joined forces in a very patriotic effort to preserve Italian classics and, in doing so, return Acqua di Parma to its rightful place. And they have certainly succeeded, reviving the old fragrances. They have also launched new projects, such as the aromatherapy line Blu Mediterraneo, fragrances for interiors, and other collections. Of course, they have done all this while also seeking good investments and positioning the product in the international market. Finally, the three remarkable gentlemen signed a contract with luxury goods giant LVMH, which took full ownership of Acqua di Parma in 2003. They also deserve credit for preserving the magnificent Italian-style fragrances and continuing to develop them successfully. At this point, Hollywood once again smiled on Acqua di Parma, which was now much smaller but no less proud. Names such as Kevin Costner, Woody Allen, Sharon Stone and others took the place of its famous admirers from earlier times. Acqua di Parma - Iris Nobile. The Nobile collection is a collection of feminine fragrances. But these are no ordinary feminine fragrances: as the name suggests, they are noble scents. The Pirchoni notes of this fragrance blend with notes of a certain nobility, striving for perfection. The top notes include the scent of ripe mandarins, along with Bergamot and Anise. At the heart of the fragrance are iris flowers and Ylang-ylang flowers. The base notes contain patchouli, musk and Ambrette seeds. This fragrance has a moderate presence that gradually spreads, eventually lingering on the skin and in the surrounding area. It is much loved and is especially suited to autumn, although it can certainly be worn in any other season as well.
